Hit our first stretch goal!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 02, 2016 at 11:29:30 PM

Hello Backers!

I want to announce that we made our first stretch goal!  $10,000 and we have unlocked 2 more pages of the story.  I wrote out a new epilogue and man will it pack a punch.  Very excited to show it to Jose.  The more we make the more story we will be giving you, so let's do this!

More awesome things:

1.  We got an article at Bleeding Cool.  This is the perfect thing to post in social media and with like-minded folks.  Check it out here:  http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/07/31/last-ride-into-the-sunset/

2. Social goals.  Free ways to promote and unlock more content.  'nuff said.

3.  SLIPCASES!  Thanks to a great backer, I got in touch with a company that will make some slipcases for the hardcovers.  They are made by hand, so it's for the true-collector.  I do not have graphic designs yet for them, but I'm thinking that an add-on for $50 is what we are going to add.  Those interested start thinking about it.

This is the part I call

Paying it Forward.  Every now and then I find another creator that is doing something rad that I want to let people know about, as a backer of a lot of projects, to me it's all about creating this community and especially in the self-publishing world, we need all the help we can get.

Today is all about the book DOPE:  A talented young actress becomes fatally ensnared in London's mysterious and glittery drug culture of the early 20th century. If this Kickstarter campaign is successful, we will publish the first ever collection of Trina Robbin's comic book adaptation of Sax Rohmer's sensational 1919 novel DOPE.

As a fan of history and period stories, this looks pretty cool.

Stretch Goals Announced!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Jul 29, 2016 at 03:01:22 PM

Hello Backers!

Now that we have moved to Phase 2 of the project, where we attempt to see how far we reach as a community I am putting some STRETCH GOALS for everyone.  Some are monetary goals and some are social goals.  The idea is that the campaign is community-building and we as a team work together to promote and share the awesomeness that is Pariah Missouri!

BEHOLD the STRETCH GOALS!

I have about 5-6 more things that I can offer for stretch goals that I will be adding as well as goals for 200 Facebook likes, etc once we get there, so I'd love to be adding more to this list.  And I need YOUR help to make it happen!  Likes, Shares, fun pictures all these things can be done free and helps us greatly!  So please share the campaign page with others.

Item #2.  After my visit to Comic Con and speaking with some of my favorite colorists, I have a NEW TECHNIQUE!  I'm super stoked about it, I learned a way to use watercolor paper in stead of bristol and man does it look awesome!  The only issue is that the I'm working now on 8.5x11 instead of 11x17, so the originals are not as awesome size-wise, but they looks great and it's quicker.  I wish I could do back and redo them all, but that's 3 years of work.  Ain't happenin'.

Ok, that's it for me.  I've just about exhausted all my resources for contacts.  If you know some power-players, key decision makers in the business please send them my way.  If you want a stack of postcards to hand out to your local comic shop, let me know, I can ship them out to you to promote.

Thank you!

Andres

Kickin' arse and takin' names!
over 7 years ago – Wed, Jul 27, 2016 at 03:56:49 PM

Holy Cow, I can't believe how the day went!  Darn Tootin' I'm happy as a billy goat in a Montana prairie.  It's all thanks to you beautiful people.

  • We got over 50% funded in 23 hours
  • We got the "Projects we love" ie Staff Picks from Kickstarter
  • Over 80 backers
  • Successful launch party.

We played Two Rooms and a Boom, (a great game by backer Alan Gerding) at our shin-dig and had some good eats.

Whats coming up next:

BACKERS:  As you know, we kicked total butt today, and we need to keep that momentum for these first days.  I will ask that you share, tweet and like the project.  Emails are always best, but any channel works.  You can use this link:

ME:  I've reached out to the press/blogs, everyone is gearing up for SDCC, so I might need to wait for a week before I get any real action there, I'll keep hitting the social media and forums, reddit, stuff like that.

I will update the website with AD-ONS that show what you can add to your pledge, to make it easier.

I will show some of the artwork for the Marshal and Founder Levels.  I think this will make it more clear and then allow people to know exactly what art piece they are getting.  I will send an update to explain all of that tomorrow.

Lastly, I need to get read for San Diego Comic Con, and get myself down there.  I'll be posting pics and sharing stuff all week, so stay tuned.

SDCC Wrap-up!
over 7 years ago – Wed, Jul 27, 2016 at 03:56:31 PM

Backers and Friends!

I want to first thank you all for your support!  We are over $9,000 and I am so excited to see this happening!  Kicktraq says we could get somewhere between $20-40,000.  That would be awesome!  Let's try to seriously get there!

A couple of things:

1. I reached out to an over-seas printer about printing the Omnibus, we'll see what the quote is.  The issue might become that if Pariah Missouri gets picked up by a publisher, I don't want to have 1,000 copies in my house if Publisher X picks it up, but it's something to look at.

2.  I spoke to many folks in the press and I hope to get some coverage of the KS with them.  I'll be following up this week.  If you can share the campaign with people, tweet, email and message, that would be awesome!

3.  My comic con write up!  Check it out:  http://decadebrothers.com/2016/07/25/san-diego-comic-con-2016-wrap-up/

4.  Stretch Goals:  I'm reaching today what my plan is.  This decision might be my most important one, next to the book prices.  Our next update I will be revealing the Stretch goals!

Thank you all!  Please share this and let's make this happen!
